Joe Price co-founded 4E Therapeutics and is currently its President and Chairman. Prior to co-founding 4E Therapeutics, Joe co-founded and was the President and General Counsel of AcademicWorks, Inc., which provided scholarship management and donor engagement software to over 600 colleges, universities, and foundations. AcademicWorks was acquired by Blackbaud, Inc. (NASDAQ: BLKB), the world’s leading provider of cloud software to nonprofits, in April of 2017, after which Joe served as Senior Operations Officer at Blackbaud.
Before starting AcademicWorks, Joe was an attorney at Baker Botts L.L.P. where he represented clients in both business and patent litigation. Joe also served as the law clerk to the Honorable Leonard Davis of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, who, at the time, had one of the largest patent dockets in the Federal Judiciary. Joe’s other professional experiences include being one of the first employees at PeopleAdmin, Inc. and working for the Office of Technology Commercialization at the University of Texas at Austin.
Joe holds a BA in Government from the University of Texas at Austin, a JD, magna cum laude, from Baylor Law School, where he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Baylor Law Review, and an MBA in entrepreneurship from the Acton School of Business. Joe is a member of the Chancellor’s Centurions for the University of Texas System, serves on the Board of Trustees for the Dell Children’s Medical Center Foundation, and is a licensed Texas attorney.
